Drink driving penalties
Drink driving is a very serious offence and the penalties are severe. Drink drivers, on conviction, will be disqualified from driving for at least 12 months, which would, in effect, invalidate their driving licenses. These motorists will have to undergo the theory and practical tests in order to obtain their driving licenses again.

Disqualification from Driving for at least 1 Yr
Fine of between $1,000 to $5,000
Jail term of up to 6 Months
Fine of between $3,000 to $10,000
Jail term of up to 1 Year
3rd and subsequent offence:
Fine of up to $30,000
Jail Term of up to 3 Years
The offender will also be disqualified from driving for at least a year from the date of conviction or the date of completion of prison sentence, if any.
The prescribed legal limit is a blood alcohol content of 80mg per 100ml of blood or breath alcohol content of 35μg per 100ml of breath.
